Doctors of chiropractic must satisfy a demanding academic curriculum that requires 6 academic years of study.

 Doctors of chiropractic must complete about 600 hours of externship. They are then required to pass national board examinations as a prerequisite for licensure.

A doctor of chiropractic must stay up to date with the latest health care techniques. They are required to attend seminars and other study programs to maintain licensure.

Doctor's of Chiropractic are the only members of the health care profession who have specialized training in recognizing and analyzing body imbalances, muscle tensions, and spinal misalignments.
